East Mountain families can lock in a free day of bounce houses, food trucks and games while helping stock backpacks for local kids headed back to class.
The East Mountain Food Pantry hosts its annual Back2School Bash Aug. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Venus Park, according to the pantry, which has served the community since 1989.
Proceeds from the event’s raffle go toward getting area students supplied and ready for the first bell. Tickets enter families for two Main Event family four-packs worth $200 each, two two-pack day passes to Ojo Santa Fe worth $130, two $50 arcade cards and a $50 Costco gift card, per the pantry.
The bash rolls out an obstacle course, crafts, face painting and vendor booths alongside live music from Whole Lot of Zeppelin, the pantry said. Food trucks and local businesses round out the shopping and snacking options.
Organizers say there’s still room for vendors, activity booths, food trucks and volunteers to sign on before the big day.
