Edgewood Connected, a local nonprofit organization, will host a series of free community events throughout December, including ice skating, a first responders benefit lunch and visits with Santa Claus.
The events kick off Saturday with an ice skating event from 3 to 9 p.m. hosted by Rich Ford. The free event will provide skates, food trucks and hot cocoa. A coloring contest sponsored by Property Patriots will also take place.
On Sunday, the organization will hold a First Responders Benefit Lunch from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Edgewood Fire Station. Community members can RSVP through the organization’s website at edgewoodconnected.org.
Santa’s Village, scheduled for Dec. 13 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., will be hosted by Graceland Portable Buildings behind the Walgreens location. Families can bring children for photos with Santa, hay rides and free giveaways. A food truck will be on site.
Throughout December, Edgewood Connected is also sponsoring a Christmas Light Contest. Maps of light displays are available on the organization’s website, where residents can vote for their favorite and register to enter the competition. Prizes will be awarded.
Edgewood Connected was founded in 2025 by community members who identified a need for stronger support services in the East Mountain area. The nonprofit focuses on providing mentorship, hosting community events and building networks among residents and businesses.
