Wildlife West Nature Park will host a free radio-controlled airplane flying show on Saturday featuring vintage aircraft and demonstrations of RC vehicles.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the park’s kite field, located at 87 North Frontage Road in Edgewood. Organizers say the show will include multiple vintage toy airplanes as well as demonstrations of radio-controlled trucks and cars.
Spectators can view the demonstrations from their vehicles along the entry driveway or walk closer to the runway for a better vantage point, according to event organizers. A food truck will be available near the airfield.
The event is scheduled as rain or shine, though organizers noted flying demonstrations are contingent on wind conditions.
Attendees can also visit Wildlife West’s wildlife zoo, which houses more than 20 species, including a young black bear, two cougars, grey foxes and a bald eagle from Alaska. Zoo admission is separate from the airplane show and costs $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students. Children ages 4 and younger receive free admission.
