East Mountain Companion Animal Project has launched a month-long photo contest to raise funds for a community spay and neuter clinic planned for 2026.
The “No More Littering” calendar contest, which runs through Sept. 5, invites pet owners to submit photos of their rescue dogs for $25 per entry. The winning images will be featured in EMCAP’s first fundraising calendar.
Contest participants can submit unlimited photos of individual pets or pet groups through the organization’s website. Each $25 entry automatically counts as 25 votes, and additional votes can be purchased for $1 each.
The most-voted photo will serve as the calendar’s cover image, with the winner receiving a free professional pet photo session with photographer Angel Marquez. The 11 contestants with the next-highest vote totals will be featured as monthly cover photos throughout the year.
EMCAP’s board will select a third-place winner to be featured in the final month of the calendar.
The organization plans to use proceeds from entry fees, voting and calendar sales to offer low-cost or free spay and neuter services to the community. The clinic aims to reduce the number of unexpected litters and animals surrendered to shelters in the East Mountain area.
Photo submissions must not depict distressed animals, according to contest rules. Entries can be submitted online. The 2026 calendars will be available for purchase in October, with pre-orders available through the contest website.
