The Town of Mountainair will host its annual Christmas parade Dec. 20, followed by holiday celebrations and a New Year’s Eve dance to close out 2025, Mayor Peter Nieto announced Monday.

The Christmas parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. with lineup starting at 5 p.m. on Limit Avenue by Highway 60. Residents interested in entering floats or participating in groups should arrive at lineup by 5 p.m. Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and dress warmly.

Following the parade, the town will host the third annual Grinchmas at the Dr. Saul Community Building and Multi-Purpose Building. The event, presented in partnership with Zia Sports Academy, will feature decorations, children’s activities and refreshments.

The town will also host a New Year’s Eve dance Dec. 31 with live music from Sugar Show and B&X SOUND performing during intermission. The swearing-in ceremony for the Mountainair Governing Body will take place after midnight as part of the celebration.

Residents with questions can contact the town’s social media page or email mountainairmayor@gmail.com. Town officials recommend contacting them in advance rather than on event days.
