The Town of Edgewood will swear in five newly elected officials Tuesday before considering eight zoning ordinances during a packed regular meeting.
The swearing-in ceremony begins at 5 p.m. at Edgewood Town Hall Commission Chambers, 171A NM 344. Municipal Judge William White and four commissioners will take their oaths of office: Kenneth Brennan (District 1), Devon Taylor (District 2), Stephen Murillo (District 4) and Mike Rariden (District 5).
The regular meeting follows at 6 p.m. at the same location.
Commissioners will consider eight ordinances granting zone changes across the town, including multiple requests for R-3 residential zoning, special use zoning and one C-2 commercial zone change for a 62-acre property at 94 NM 344.
The largest rezoning request involves approximately 60 acres at 0 NM 344 in the Lone Pine Ranch area, designated as Tract A-1.
Under new business, the commission will review the 2026 town holiday calendar, a wastewater equipment purchase and a change order for the West Venus Road project that would extend a trail in front of Edgewood Middle School.
Commissioners will discuss an insurance claim and take action on requests filed under the Inspection of Public Records Act.
Three closed session items are scheduled to discuss personnel matters, as well as threatened or pending litigation.Both meetings will be livestreamed on the town’s YouTube channel.
