The East Mountain Toy Exchange will open its doors Friday for a three-day event offering free toys to families in need.
The pop-up shop, located at 65 Rainbow Road, will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday. All items are free, and organizers encourage visitors to give what they can and take what they need.
Santa Claus will make an appearance Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Friday marks the final day for toy donations. Organizers are accepting clean, gently used toys at several locations throughout the East Mountain area.
In Edgewood, donations can be dropped off at Graceland Portable Buildings, 10 Edgewood 7, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The location is closed Wednesdays. Donations will also be accepted at the toy exchange location Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Moriarty residents can drop off toys at Lucky No. 7’s, 1204 U.S. Route 66, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In Cedar Crest, toys can be left on the front porch of Moore Learning, 11943 NM-14, at any time.
While all toys are free, the exchange accepts monetary donations to help cover operational costs.
