Enchanted Soul Art Gallery is hosting a weekend of events to close out its year before entering a seasonal hibernation that will last until early April.

The gallery, located at 12220 Highway 14 N., will feature a fire hoop performance, an art auction benefiting a local teacher facing illness and a youth gingerbread house contest through Sunday.

The centerpiece of the weekend is an art auction supporting Tabitha Monet, a special education teacher, artist and single mother of three who is currently unable to work due to a serious illness. Monet was a featured artist during the gallery’s “Nocturnal Buffet” exhibition in October and November.

“This auction is our way of showing up for her — offering tangible support through art, generosity, and collective care,” gallery founder Dame Brown wrote in a newsletter announcing the events.

The auction, which runs through 6 p.m. Sunday, features donated works from artist George Evans.

Tijeras resident Meghan Provost will perform with fire hoops from 3-6 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Attendees are encouraged to bring camping chairs and blankets for the outdoor performance.

The gallery is also hosting an East Mountains Gingerbread House Contest for youth ages 8-12. Entries must be dropped off by 4 p.m. Saturday, with winners announced at 3 p.m. Sunday. Three grand prizes will be awarded, including a $169 classical guitar lesson package from The Village Guitarist, a $100 art supplies package from Enchanted Soul, and a $50 art lessons gift card from ArtSpaceEast.

The gallery will close Dec. 24 for winter and reopen in early April. During the closure, Brown said the gallery will maintain engagement through social media.
